From modest beginnings to a global tech force
The story of The Adaptavist Group has humble origins that evolved over the years to transform us into an intercontinental technology powerhouse. Our history begins in 2005, not as a Group, but as a single company named Adaptavist. From our inception, Adaptavist’s original mission was to help users get the most from Atlassian products.
Today, we have more than 1,000 talented team members working across 15+ offices in 20+ countries. We have 85+ amazing partners and proudly serve 22,000+ customers. We continue to expand, innovate, and empower businesses worldwide with unmatched solutions and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
From modest beginnings to a global tech force
2005: Humble Beginnings
Adaptavist is formed, initially as a fully remote company. Later, the business gets an office to host client meetings.
2006: Our first app, ThemeBuilder
Adaptavist quickly wins recognition by launching ThemeBuilder—our first app and also the debut app for Atlassian’s Confluence, allowing developers to customise their Confluence’s appearance.
2010: Launching the Atlassian Marketplace
We work with Atlassian to help build and launch the iconic Atlassian Marketplace.
2011: A new CEO
Board Advisor Simon Haighton-Williams takes over as Adaptavist’s CEO to unleash the company's limitless potential.
2014: Scriptrunner acquisition
Adaptavist expands its reach by acquiring the popular Jira automation and customisation app, ScriptRunner, and expands into North America.
2018: Brew Digital acquisition
Adaptavist acquires digital agency Brew Digital to manage our web development and design work.
2019: Global expansion
Adaptavist launches into continental Europe and Malaysia, partners with the instant messaging app Slack, wins The Sunday Times Tech Track Award, and lands fifth place on Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 list.
2020: OrahApps acquisition
Adaptavist partners with GitLab, welcomes OrahApps, creator of Trello apps, to the dynamic family, and launches the open SaaS marketplace Salable.
2021: Aligned Agility acquisition and Atlassian Partner award
Adaptavist welcomes agile transformation experts Aligned Agility to the family, achieves Professional Services Channel Partner status with GitLab, and is also awarded Atlassian Partner of the Year 2020: Cloud Migration Services—our first of many Atlassian Partner awards.
2022: A new chapter as The Adaptavist Group
Adaptavist opens a new global headquarters in London and a North American headquarters in Toronto. We are awarded Atlassian Partner of the Year 2021: Cloud Experience Partners, our second Atlassian Partner award. We gain a new partnership with the project management company monday.com and become a DevOps Services Competency Partner with AWS. In addition to these successes, we embark on an international acquisition spree with agile transformation specialists Gravity Works in South Africa, Rozdoum in Ukraine, Nimaworks in Cyprus and Greece, and veniture in Germany, Turkey, and Croatia.
Adaptavist launches The Adaptavist Group as the parent company of all of these brands, marking a new chapter and the start of our Group identity.
2023: Venue.sh and Kolekti launches
The Adaptavist Group launches Venue.sh to help businesses automate their DevOps pipelines. Kolekti also launches as a rebrand of OrahApps, providing products for Confluence and monday.com, as well as Trello. Adaptavist is recognised as a monday.com Advanced Delivery Partner in North America. Adaptavist gains its third and fourth Atlassian awards, winning Atlassian Partner of the Year 2022: Cloud Migration Services (for the second time) and Migration Ready Apps.
2024: The Adaptavist name grows
Our service brands Aligned Agility, Gravity Works, Nimaworks, Rozdoum, and veniture merge under the Adaptavist name. By uniting under a single brand, our customers gain better access to all our global digital transformation services and combined offerings from across the other brands at The Adaptavist Group, regardless of their location. The Adaptavist Group goes on to win the King’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade and the UK Business Award for Best Marketing Strategy 2024.
Adaptavist also receives two awards: Atlassian Partner of the Year 2023: Cloud Solutions—our fifth Atlassian Partner award—and Exceptional Cloud Service Provider 2023 from Business Awards UK.
2025: D|OPS Digital acquisition and more accolades
The Adaptavist Group acquires D|OPS Digital, a leading consultancy specialising in developer experience transformation. The brand merges into the Adaptavist name, combining D|OPS Digital's expertise with our portfolio's collective strengths
Adaptavist achieves Gold-level monday.com partner status in North America and Silver-tier status in the UK, Spain, and Turkey, and Harness Advanced Partner Status. Awards keep coming in the form of Atlassian Partner of the Year 2024: Services Americas—our seventh Atlassian award—and GitLab 2025 EMEA partner awards for Best Partner - Northern Europe and Best Technical Solution/Project.
2026: More Atlassian Partner of the Year awards
Adaptavist wins two Atlassian Partner of the Year 2026 Awards: Co-Selling Excellence and Cloud Transformation Services, bringing the total tally to eight Atlassian Partner of the Year awards.
